Castillo Family:
The family Castillo Monjarez’s home was built in 1993. This is Christmas 2005 (pictured above).
The Castillo Monjarez children worked side by side with Esperanza volunteers while their parents went to work. Patty (pictured left), now 26 and one of the top 5 young chefs in Mexico, shared some thoughts.
“Working in community people don’t think of themselves as one, but as a unit. Before we were not close, but (12 years later) we now still say hi to each other. Esperanza’s difference is to be with other nationalities and make friendships that last.”
Felipe & Maria Luisa Rios Lazo:
Felipe (pictured above, right) noticed a house being built near their existing one; upon learning it was an Esperanza home they walked to the Posada and spoke with FEM director Josefina. They joined the FAV and proclaim the “richness” of the building experience and that they now have friends in the United States & the world!
Graciela:
Graciela’s home was built in Morita several years ago. She then led the creation of a saving program for children and a small enterprise. Now Graciela works for Esperanza Mexico helping coordinate new community enterprises.
Guadalupe Nolazco Coda & Family:
For me Esperanza was a door of salvation for my life and for my family. It signifies a door for a future for my children…four walls. They came with their heart and their hand. Esperanza arrived to fulfill my dreams." Giving to my children a dignified house. Esperanza was the first step to achieve part of the dream I had.
with love,
Guadalupe & hijos
